How to reset the gas meter

If the gas supply stops by the gas meter (microcomputer meter), take the following procedures.

Do you smell gas?

Warning
There may be a gas leakage,fully confirm that whetehr there is gas odor or not.If you smell gas, please contact Hokuriku Gas immediately without performing the recovery operation.


Gas meter reset procedure

Reset the gas meter as follows(1 minute 29 seconds)

If it does not smell of gas (caused by a cause other than gas leakage), following the recovery procedure below.

Step 1

Close the gas tap or switch off the operation switch and turn off all gas appliances. Don't forget the outdoor equipments. Make sure that the gas taps when gas is not are closed. Hoever, do not close the meter gas valve.

Step 2

Turn the cap of the reset button counterclockwise by hand to remove the cap.

Step 3

Press the return button all the way in and release it as soon as the indicator light turns on (The reset button returns and the red light flashes again. Then put the cap back on).

Step 4

Please wait for about 3 minutes.During this time, we are checking for gas leaks, so please do not use gas. After 3 minutes, check the gas meter again, and if the red lamp stops blinking, you can use the gas.

Gas meter shuts off the gas supply in the following cases (red lamp blinks).

  • Big earthquake
  • Large amount of gas leak
  • Gas pressure drop
  • Long-term use of the equipment (it does not prevent the hot water from boiling too much or the pot from burning)

  • If the red lamp is blinking while the gas is stopped even after 3 minutes, you may forgot to stop the gas appliance or there may be gas leaks. Please confirm again that you did not forget to close the gas tap or to stop the gas appliance.
